The Houston MBA Evening Program
The Houston MBA Evening program is comprised of 48 semester hours including
30 hours of core MBA courses delivered in a lockstep cohort
format. These core courses are designed to give students
a foundation in each of the functional areas of business. Once
the core courses are completed students continue on to take
18 hours of electives in which specializations and concentrations
may be established.
As a student you will be challenged by other motivated professionals
who have a broad range of academic and occupational backgrounds
which add value to the overall educational experience. Because
students progress through the program in small cohorts, students will have the opportunity to build relationships
that will lead to lifelong friendships and create a pipeline for professional
networking.
The goals of the MBA program are to provide graduates with…
- effective written communication skills,
- the ability to integrate different functional areas in solving business problems,
- critical thinking skills to analyze business situations and recommend appropriate action,
- an awareness of the environment of business, including areas such as law, politics, culture, and technology,
- the ability to identify ethical issues, evaluate them, and propose alternative courses of action.

The Bauer College of Business MBA Admissions committee strongly encourages prospective students to apply as early as possible . Applications are considered as long as space is available, or until June 1 for Fall admissions or November 15 for Spring admissions, whichever comes first. Therefore, applicants who wait until the last possible moment to submit an application might not be admitted; and, if admitted, might not receive their first choice of cohorts.
Please note , the admissions review process does not begin until all required documents are received (please see above for a list of the required documents). Once all the required documents have been received, the applicant's file is complete; and the application is then reviewed by the admissions committee. If admitted, the applicant is mailed an acceptance letter and an “Intent to Enroll” form. Upon receipt of the signed “Intent to Enroll” form, the student will be placed in a cohort.
The Bauer College of Business Admissions committee strongly encourages applicants to apply in the earlier decision rounds. Applications are considered on a rolling basis as long as space is available.
Please note that it is suggested that spring admits follow the curriculum schedule below, but it is not required.
