Bauer undergraduate college academic notice

Definition: Pre-Bus majors who have earned between a 2.00 to 2.49 cumulative UH GPA are placed on College Academic Notice. Note: Any coursework taken at a different instituion will not be counted in your UH GPA, only coursework completed at UH will be counted.

Goal: Achieve a minimum 2.5 UH cumulative GPA and meet all other requirements to file a degree plan in order to take all upper level business courses. Students are limited to only taking five 3000 level business courses (this includes grades of ‘I', ‘F', ‘W', and transfer work) and can not take any 4000-level business coursework until a degree plan has been successfully filed.

College Academic Notice Checklist

Seek early advising (see below) each semester.
Determine target GPA for upcoming semester and how many hours are needed to raise UH cumulative GPA to at least a 2.5.
Know the policy on academic probation.
Make sure UH email alias is valid and working.
Check semester and cumulative UH GPA each semester through Enrollment Services Online (To check grades, log onto Enrollment Services Online, go to RECORDS and select 'grades').
Utilize Bauer Tutoring Services and Learning Support Services. (you are paying for these services each semester when you pay for student fees.

*Bring an In-Progress Grade Sheet to your advising session with your mid-semester average grades in each class.

Scholastic Support Available

Students should take advantage of the services offered by Learning Support Services
including: tutorial assistance, workshops, and Learning Strategies Counseling. These services are offered at no additional expense to UH students.
Tutorial Assistance is also available for certain business classes through Bauer Tutoring Services.
