For the last five years I teach Business Ethics and Human Resource Management (undergraduate level) at North South University in Dhaka. I got my Masters in HRM from Hofstra University, New York, USA. I attended the Zarb School of Business, where I was awarded the Jack Nash Scholarship for excelling at research and case writing. I realized that I didn’t want a corporate job in a bank or a financial institution in NY, and that I really feel good teaching/tutoring, therefore, teaching here is my meaningful work.

Apart from teaching, I perform company case studies for multinationals using the in-depth realist interviewing method, and also conduct comparative-historical analysis using HR metrics. In addition, I have international experience in multilingual and interdisciplinary environments, since I represent the academia while working with donor agencies such as USAID and JICA, by writing grant proposals and coordinating educational public relations.

My main research interest is on work-life balance issues, and for my doctoral degree, I hope to specialize in Organizational Behavior/ Psychology. My current research is about Flextime as a mandatory work-life enhancement program for the women intensive ready-made garments sector of Bangladesh. The primary goal of this study is to first assess the perceived level of usefulness of flexible work scheduling for working mothers in the RMG sector. The study will then analyze its viability as a pragmatic intervention/mandate for the industry.
