CYPRUS AMBASSADOR: Eleni Stavrou (eleni1@ucy.ac.cy)
Eleni is presently an Assistant
Professor of Management and Organization at the University of Cyprus. She has received her Ph.D. in Management
and Organization at the George Washington University, USA where she was
co-founder and Director of Programs and Operations of the Center for Family
Enterprise. She received also an MBA in Human Resources Management/Human
Resource Information Systems and a B.Sc. in Marketing and Management at the
State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany, USA.
Eleni has published widely
including articles in various academic journals, such as Journal of
Organizational Behavior, Journal of Business Ethics, Entrepreneurship Theory
and Practice, Journal of Applied Social Psychology, Journal of Small Business
Management, and International Small Business Journal. Her research interests
include: work-life issues; strategic comparative human resource management;
intergenerational transitions in family firms; and culture. Largely as a result
of her initiative, the University of
Cyprus is one of the few in Southern
Europe and the Middle East to promote and
publish research in the emerging field of family enterprise. Finally, she has
been developing and executing training workshops and acts as an
organizational consultant to various organizations.
