   GERMANY AMBASSADOR: Marion Festing

Marion Festing (Ph.D, University of Paderborn) is Professor of Human Resource Management and Intercultural Leadership at ESCP-EAP European School of Management in Berlin, Germany, and European Research Dean at this institution. ESCP-EAP is a transnational business school with campuses in Paris, London, Madrid, Turin and Berlin. Previous appointments of Marion Festing include the University of Paderborn, Germany. She has gained educational, research and work experience in France, Australia, Tunisia, Taiwan and the USA.

 

Her main field of research is international human resource management. In a three-continental team together with Peter Dowling (New Zealand) and Allen Engle (USA) she as published a textbook on International Human Resource Management, (5th edn, London: 2008). Furthermore, together with Susanne Royer (Germany) she is editing a book series on Research in International Human Resource Management and Strategy. Other publications include a book on Strategic International Human Resource Management (Strategisches Internationales Personalmanagement, 2nd Ed), a co-authored German textbook on International Human Resource Management (Internationales Personalmanagement, 2nd Ed) and guest-edited special issues of Management International Review on IHRM. Festing has also written or co-authored over fifty book chapters and journal articles and published in international journals such as Management International Review, Economic and Industrial Demography, European Management Journal, European Journal of International Management and International Journal of Globalisation and Small Business. Her current research interests focus on transnational HRM strategies, global performance management, global careers, global compensation, and expatriate leadership styles in Russia. She is the co-editor of ZfP-German Journal of Human Resource Research and serves on the editorial boards of Career Development International, Journal of Management and Organization, International Journal of Globalisation and Small Business and Zeitschrift für Management. Her teaching experience covers various fields of human resource management, organizational behaviour, and intercultural management and has targeted bachelor and master students as well as executives.
