Dr. Epitropaki has teaching and research interests in the areas of leadership, emotions in organisations, psychological contracts and diversity management. Her doctoral research was specifically focused on the role of cognitive processes for understanding managerial leadership, with a special emphasis on transformational and charismatic types of leadership. For her doctoral thesis she won the 2001 Jepson School Award for Outstanding Dissertations in Leadership Studies, and she also was among the six finalists for the 2000 Newman Best Dissertation Award for the Academy of Management.  Her research has been published in top refereed journals and conferences, such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, the Leadership Quarterly, the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, the International Journal of Human Resource Management, the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology conference and the Academy of Management conference proceedings. She has acted as a referee for journals and conferences such as the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, Work and Stress and the Academy of Management conference. Dr. Epitropaki is a member of the Academy of Management, the Society for Human Resource Management, the American Psychological Association and the British Psychological Society.

She has also worked for many years as a consultant and executive trainer for numerous companies such as Vodafone, Xerox, Carrefour, Novo Nordisk, Shell, Sanofi-Aventis, National Bank of Greece, Piraeus Bank, EFG-Eurobank Ergasias, Viohalco, Titan and others. She is also the Academic Advisor for the Best Workplaces competition in Greece as well as for the Recruitment Confidence Index (RCI).
