ICELAND AMBASSADOR: Ingi Edvardsson  (ire@unak.is)

 

Dr. Ingi Runar Edvardsson is a professor of management at the Faculty of Business and Science, University of Akureyri, Akureyri, Iceland. He has been an acting dean for the Faculty in 2008, and has been the head of the master program in Business Administration.  He received his PhD in Sociology at the Department of Sociology, University of Lund, Sweden. 

 

Ingi’s current research focuses on (1) knowledge management and its relations with HRM (2) outsourcing of services activities (2) globalization and labor market development in the Nordic countries, (3) management practices in Icelandic firms, and (4) distance education in management.

 

Ingi has presented his work in international conferences, and published books and in international journals (Employee Relations, Knowledge Management Research & Practice, and International Review of Research in Open and Distance Learning). His teaching experience includes management, organizational theory, knowledge management, HRM-related as well as methodological courses, and supervising students.

 

Ingi was a visiting scholar at the Department of Human Resource Management at Strathclyde University, Glasgow, in the autumn of 2003, and at the University of Lund in the spring of 2004.
