INDONESIA AMBASSADOR: Budi Soetjipto  (bsoetjipto@gmail.com)

 

Budi W. Soetjipto has been Managing Director of the Institute of Management, University of Indonesia since 2005. In addition, he is also Associate Professor in Management at the same university. Outside the academic world, Budi was appointed as Member of the Commissioner Board of Pertamina Geothermal Energy, Ltd. in August of 2008 as well as Vice President of Human Resource Indonesia Foundation (since 2004).

 

Budi has a long experience in HR world. He was Member of Nomination and Renumeration Committee of the Commissioner Board of Telecommunication Indonesia, Ltd. (2002-2003) and National Electricity Company, Ltd. (2004-2007). Budi has also been involved in numerous HR consulting works, mostly in Indonesia state-owned companies and Indonesia government agencies, some are funded by international agencies such Asian Development Bank, European Union and United Nations Development Program. Among his clients are National Gas Company, Ltd. (Perusahaan Gas Negara/PGN), National Oil and Gas Mining, Ltd. (Pertambangan Minyak dan Gas Bumi Nasional/Pertamina), North Sumatra National Plantation Company, Ltd. (Perkebunan Nusantara III), Gresik Cement, Ltd. (Semen Gresik), National Housing Company, Ltd. (Perumahan Nasional/Perumnas), Indonesia National Police (Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia/Polri), Center of Financial Transaction Report and Analysis (Pusat Pelaporan dan Analisis Transaksi Keuangan/PPATK), Department of Transportation (Departemen Perhubungan), and Department of Home Affairs (Departemen Dalam Negeri).

 

Budi obtained his Doctoral degree in Business Administration (majoring in organizational behavior) from Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He has published almost 200 articles in national and international magazines, newspapers and journals, including his seminal work in the Academy of Management Journal (December 2006). His research interest is in employee change readiness, leader-member exchange, corporate culture, isomorphism impact on individual employees, talent management and employee engagement.
