Dr. Priya
Baguant holds a PhD under the supervision of Prof
Ray Richardson from the London School of Economics, University of London.
My Masters is an Msc Industrial Relations and
Personnel Management from the LSE and my first degree a BA (Hons) Economics from the University
of East Anglia, England.
I am currently Senior Lecturer
at the University
of Mauritius. I lecture
at Diploma, undergraduate and post graduate levels in the areas of General
Management, Organisation Behaviour,
Human Resource Management and Employment Relations. My main areas of research are: Performance
Management, Compensation and Wages, Productivity, Human Resource Management:
Commitment v/s Control, Unions and Women Entrepreneurship.
I have been involved in the
training of Human Resource Executives both in the private and public sectors
in Mauritius.
The training has been on employee resourcing and performance management. For
one year I joined an international company and worked as both the training
manager and Human Resource Executive. This experience has enabled me to have
an insight in the practical implementation and practice of Human Resource
Management.
