SWITZERLAND AMBASSADOR: Steffen Raub  (Steffen.RAUB@ehl.ch)

Dr. Steffen Raub is Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management at EHL, Lausanne, Switzerland. A German national, Steffen holds master’s degrees in business administration from the University of Mannheim, Germany, and ESSEC, France. He earned his Ph.D. in Management at the University of Geneva, Switzerland.

Prior to joining EHL, Steffen was on the faculty of the University of Lausanne (HEC) and the University of Geneva (HEC). He was also an Assistant Professor at the School of Business, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, Thailand.

In his research, Steffen focuses on antecedents of extra-role behaviors at the individual, leader and organizational levels with a particular focus on empowerment and empowering leadership. He is also interested in the consequences of extra-role performance and proactive work behaviors for service quality and other relevant outcomes in the service sector.

Steffen has authored and co-authored several books and has published two dozen book chapters and papers in refereed journals, including European Management Journal, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Information Technology and Research and Practice in Human Resource Management. One of his most recent papers on empowerment (with Ch. Robert) has received the “Outstanding Practical Implications for Management Award” at the 2007 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management.

Steffen has consulted with a number of multinational corporations in Europe and Asia and regularly conducts workshops on topics related to organizational behavior and organizational change. In his free time he enjoys his family, sports, good food and fine wines.
