Business Applications II
General Instructions for Turning in Computer Assignments
- Assignments must be typed. The only exceptions are
mathematical symbols, which can be handwritten.
- Do not turn in any computer printout. However, you
may refer to the printout and paste (electronically or
manually) parts of it (such as plots and tables).
- For tests of hypotheses, you should include all of
the following elements:
- The two hypotheses, in words and in symbols.
- Decision rule you are using (i.e., reject the
null hypothesis if ...)
- Value of the statistic you use and the
corresponding critical value if appropriate.
- Statistical decision (reject the null hypothesis,
or fail to reject it).
- Interpretation of the decision, in the words of
the particular application.
- Answer to the question asked, if appropriate.
- For confidence intervals, you should include the
following:
- Numerical interval, including the parameter of
interest, in symbols.
- Interpretation, in the words of the particular
application.
