Program Manager, Ted Bauer Leadership Certificate Program
Allison Marz serves as the Program Manager for the Ted Bauer Leadership Certificate Program (TBLCP) within the Bauer College of Business. In her role, Allison oversees all aspects of the TBLCP - a program, which seeks to provide Bauer students with a practical knowledge of professionalism, effective tools for communication, and opportunities to understand their strengths. Allison leads and teaches the workshops for each of the four TBLCP cohorts each semester, oversees the TBLCP Peer Advisor Program, and conducts the assessment and evaluations for the program. Prior to joining University of Houston, Allison worked in the Office of Outreach and Recruitment with the Lone Star College System at their Kingwood campus. In this role, she oversaw various outreach programs in the Houston community to promote college access and recruit students to the Lone Star College System. She also oversaw the New Student Orientation program. During her time at LSC-Kingwood, Allison successfully developed the campus' Orientation Leader Program. Allison received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Texas A&M University and was an active participant in leadership and service programs while at TAMU. She has also received her Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University. While at Ohio State, Allison served as an Asst. Hall Director for one the residence halls on campus - gaining a variety of experiences in student and leadership development. Her prior experiences developing student leaders in various areas of higher education have fueled her continued passion for leadership development. Outside of her work life, Allison enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading a good book, taking vacations to all parts of the world, and being a Disney Parks fanatic. She is also an avid fan of all Houston sports teams and is excited to officially add the University of Houston Cougars to her list.
