Ashley Salaiz

Bio

Ashley Salaiz is from Omaha, Nebraska. She earned her B.A. from Southern Methodist University and her M.B.A. from Schiller International University. Prior to entering the PhD program at University of Houston, she spent several years working as an internal auditor for KPMG, Dresser, Inc., and General Electric in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex.

Ashley's research interests lie at the intersection of two areas: socially-oriented firm actions (sustainable/social innovation, social responsibility and social irresponsibility) and strategic decision making. She is specifically interested in the role that senior leaders of firms play in driving sustainable or socially-oriented strategic initiatives.

In her dissertation, Ashley examines the socially and sustainably innovative firm with a model that explores the presence of sustainability committees as a key mechanism enabling firms to pursue and encourage social/sustainable innovations.
