Herbert (Pete) Lyon

Herbert (Pete) Lyon is professor emeritus of the Bauer College of Business, where he served as the founding Director of the Executive MBA Program and Associate Dean for Executive and International Programs. Prior to joining UH, Dr. Lyon was on the faculty of the University of Kentucky, where he served as Director of Graduate Studies for the Department of Business Administration, Assistant Dean for the College of Business and Economics, and Associate Dean of The Graduate College. He also served as a member of the National Program Committee and as Vice-Chairman-Finance for the Executive MBA Council.
Dr. Lyon has taught courses on Marketing/Economic Analysis, Managerial Economics, Marketing Research, Statistics, and Marketing Planning and Strategy, and undertaken numerous consulting engagements. He has authored over 30 academic papers and co-authored seven textbooks and monographs. He received a BBA degree with honors from The University of Memphis after military service in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves. He was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company prior to starting graduate study at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he received his PhD with area concentrations in marketing, economics and statistics.
